FOOD: 4 (Must try duck! Beautiful food decorations and colors.)) DECOR: 5 (Beautiful interior) SERVICE: 3 (kind employees but untrained employees. Should raise the quality of service. They don't explain what the food is. Especially if the food is spicy, they should remind again. My 4 year old daughter ate spicy food and wasn't a good experience. Also, please give water first! No water when my daughter ate spicy food! Had to go around to ask water from the server.

I've been wanting to try this spot for a while and am glad I finally did! The vibe is relaxed and laid-back, even though the restaurant is on the fancier side. The staff was very friendly and hospitable and answered my questions about the drinks and dishes. I was excited about the Year of the Dragon Cocktail but was unable to get it due to the size of my party (2 people). I did, however, try some other great drinks and even better food. We ordered the Chef's Fried Rice, Zhenjiang Pork Ribs, and (of course) the Roasted Peking Duck. The Fried Rice was well made and very flavorful and paired well with the Ribs and Duck. The Ribs were very tender and the meat seemed to fall off the bone. Of course, the Duck was the absolute winner! Served in two stages, it completely blew us away and we were surprised at how much food we got. Overall, everything was very tasty! For dessert, it was hard to pick one so we got the Treasure Bowl, which was worth it for the presentation alone! It was a variety of desserts and allowed us to try so many different ones at the same time. I highly recommend for anyone who can't choose between desserts. This is a really great spot with delicious food for decent prices. I do plan to revisit in the summer (hopefully with friends) so I can finally try the Year of the Dragon cocktail!

Be prepared for the prices, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Hutong is a glamorous dining experience, and we greatly enjoyed our meal. Truffle shiitake & wild mushroom bao: so unique! It looks exactly like a mushroom Wagyu beef millefeuille: wow, the flavors melt on your tongue and it's baked to perfection Dim sum platter: a beautiful arrangement of 8 dumplings, so creative and tasty - my favorite was the seafood & lily bulb. This order is great if you want to try a variety of dumplings at once Golden prawns: the salted egg yolk was so amazing! This pairs so well with rice, I couldn't stop eating it (it was a bit too oily though) Hutong prawn rolls: so crispy, and the prawns and scallops inside were delicious. This was quite filling even though the portion was small Hutong dan dan noodles: quite a unique take on a classic comfort food Kou shui chicken crispy dumplings: this one was not my favorite, the filling did not really taste like kou shui chicken We liked most of the food we ordered, although we had to order quite a bit because the portions are small. The staff are extremely friendly. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, from the high ceilings to the elegant lights and refined color choices. Thank you for a lovely meal, Hutong.

Service has improved since my last review. We went for the flaming duck. The show was fun. It's expensive, but there was a lot of food. And it was delicious. The wrappers were extremely thin, and there were plenty of thin matchstick size cucumber and scallions. The radish salad was surprisingly spicy! The crispy beef was crispy and sweet. The cocktails were well balanced. The room is beautiful and elegant. Service was unobtrusive and efficient.
